Hi there! I'm Nitin Dhiman, the creator of the Ragatonic Method.
I’ve been playing rock/metal/progressive Guitar since the last century, and Sitar for the last 12 years and have had the privilege to perform for small and large audiences in Texas (Austin, College Station), Chicago and Nicosia, Cyprus. I was a self-taught guitar player for the first 15 years of my musical journey. Throughout this time I was fascinated with, and clueless about, how the enchanting melodic sound of Indian classical music is created.
I was fortunate to find Pandit Indrajit Banerji through whom I studied Sitar and north Indian classical music. Being familiar with ‘western’ music theory and Indian classical music, I found ways to use learnings from one style to benefit the other. That’s how the Ragatonic Method was born! It’s a novel, easy-to-learn system that I’ve devised to seamlessly bridge the two worlds, and an approach I haven’t seen anywhere else. If you’re looking to dramatically expand your melodic sensibilities and outlook on guitar (or any other instrument), you’ve come to the right place !
